We are currently looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee the company’s financial reporting, budgeting and taxation in the UAE. This role will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with UAE laws and providing reliable financial data to support business decision-making.


Responsibilities:

  • Accounting and Tax Policies

    • Develop and implement internal accounting procedures and policies to minimize financial risks.

    • Manage the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

    • Monitor changes in UAE Accounting and Tax legislation, ensuring the company’s practices comply with the latest regulations.

    • Ensure the preparation of documents related to tax exemptions, VAT, corporate tax, and other tax obligations, and ensure timely payment of taxes and contributions.

    Reporting and Compliance

    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

    • Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws, including VAT filings, and free zone regulations.

    • Ensure timely submission of tax declarations to the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and other regulatory bodies.

    • Maintain accurate financial records and provide reliable data to management for decision-making.

    Asset Management and Inventory Control

    • Control the inventory of material values, fixed assets, and other company assets, ensuring they are accounted for properly.

    • Collaborate with department heads to ensure compliance with the established UAE standards for the receipt and issuance of assets.

    • Maintain and update tax registers and documentation for assets in line with UAE regulations.


    Financial Transactions and Cash Flow Management

    • Oversee the management of financial transactions, ensuring that all payments and receipts are processed according to company policies and UAE laws.

    • Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments to suppliers and collection from clients. Report any delays over two weeks to management.

    • Ensure timely payment of dividends and any other financial obligations in accordance with the company's approved schedule.


    Payroll and HR Support

    • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with UAE labor and tax regulations.

    Provide timely and accurate financial data for employee benefits, compensations, and deductions as needed.


    Budgeting and Financial Planning

    • Prepare the annual budget and perform budget vs. actual analysis, identifying discrepancies and suggesting improvements.

    • Provide detailed insights into the company's financial status, including cash flow, profit margins, and expenses.

    • Ensure that the necessary funds are available for operational expenses, dividends, and other financial obligations.

    Internal Controls and Auditing

    • Implement and improve accounting and reporting systems in line with local regulations and data security standards.

    • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities for audits, providing the necessary documentation and reports.

    • Organize financial and tax audits and provide management with audit results and recommendations for improvements.

    • Review and ensure the legal compliance of all financial transactions, advising on potential discrepancies or breaches of law.


    Consultation and Continuous Improvement

    • Provide consultation on financial matters to senior management and other authorized personnel regarding taxation, insurance, budgeting, and financial strategy.

    • Recommend and implement improvements in accounting processes and financial systems, considering changes in regulations and technology.


    Other Responsibilities

    • Perform any other duties related to accounting or finance, as assigned by management.

Metrics:

  • Submit tax filings by required deadlines with 0% penalties or discrepancies.

  • Maintain a financial audit score of 95% or higher.

  • Maintain full compliance with UAE tax regulations.

  • Ensure timely financial reporting with 100% accuracy (monthly, quarterly, yearly).

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE tax laws, and financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
